It is officially the last day of school for me today. I work some over the summer, so I'm in my library pretty often, but today I went through the shelves and picked all the books that I wanted to read over the summer. Well, the ones that were returned -- I'm still waiting for some to come back. So here's a picture of the stacks behind my desk. I'll bring them home a few at a time. The stacks on the left and right are for our state's reading incentive programs, and I'm trying to read as many of those as I can, since I have to give book talks to our area school librarians in July. The two middle stacks are just books that I've had on my TBR. So, do you think I can make it? I think I can. I will have more time to read, and hopefully I can read most of these in the next three months. Wish me luck!
From P
arajunkee's View, this weeks Follow Friday question:
Q. How many books do you read in a week? And in what format do you read them, or listen to them?
Currently I read about 3 - 4 books per week. I can't always keep that pace, but lately that's what I've been able to do. I'm also always listening to a book in the car, but those usually take me a couple of weeks to finish.
From
Crazy-for-Books, this week the question is:
"What book-to-movie adaption have you most liked? Which have you disliked?"
I'm usually disappointed in book-to-movies. I guess
Harry Potter comes to mind as a good one. I think
Holes was pretty good. I can't think of any really bad ones right now, but I know there are a lot of them! I'll add them later if I can think of any.
Have a great weekend everyone. Thanks for visiting. I hope to get to hop and follow a little later today!
I picked Harry Potter too! Love the fact that those movies stay true to the book and the actors that portray the characters are pretty much perfect!
ReplyDeleteYeah for Summer! I really hope you get lots of reading in!
ReplyDeleteHere is my Follow Friday
I'm reading two to three books a week right now. I'm behind on reviews and when that happens, I try to slow down my reading so I don't get even more behind. Hopefully I can catch up today!
ReplyDeleteI also picked Harry Potter!
Have a great holiday weekend!

Books-to-movie adaptations often disappoint me, too. i haven't read HP, but I saw some movies and I liked them.
ReplyDeleteHappy holidays ans enjoy your reading!
Beyond strange new words
Wow! I wish I could read that many books in a week!
ReplyDeleteI had a hard time choosing a bad adaptation as well because there are so many of them.
Let’s kick off Memorial Day Weekend with some scandal and controversy.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely loved every minute of the Lord of the Rings films and felt they hit the mark when they brought Tolkien’s masterpiece to the big screen.

Stop making me jealous! Last day of school here in the UK is 22nd July :(
ReplyDeleteI have a week off next week, but then it's a seven week stretch til the end of term. I am in shock that you guys get three months off, we get six weeks for summer :O
I thought Lord of the Rings was a pretty good adaptation.
ReplyDeleteJust curious, what happens if a student doesn't return a book by the last day of school?
Harry Potter is definitely one of the better ones.
ReplyDeleteHopping by from FF. Hope you have a good weekend.

ReplyDeleteGoing to subscribe to your blog and want to become a follower but don't see that choice.
Stopping by from the blog hop.
Stop by my blog if you like...I usually prefer books to the movie version.

Good luck on all that reading! Those are some pretty ambitious TBR stacks!
ReplyDeleteI listen to books in my car too! I try to just stick to books that are light fun reads because when you are only listening to 10 minutes at a time you don't want to do anything to heavy.
Have a great weekend!
