Over at
Parajunkee's we're asked about some facts about ourselves:
Q. Inspired by the inane twitter trend of #100factsaboutme, give us five BOOK RELATED silly facts about you.
1. I'm the student (nerd) that used to walk down the hall with a book in her nose during break.
2. I'm a librarian now, but started out as a math teacher -- kind of a strange background
3. I don't have a book case in my house. I have some old books in boxes, but mostly give all my books to the library when I'm finished.
4. I do collect books for my other hobbies, though. I have lots of cookbooks and also sewing and embroidery books.
5. Sometimes when I finish a book, I can't remember the characters' names. I'm better about this since I blog--that's one reason I do, because I used to read so fast, I'd forget books as soon as I started the next one. Now that I write about books, I remember them a lot better.
Over at Crazy-For-Books, the hop is discussing series books:
"If you could physically put yourself into a book or series…which one would it be and why?"
I would say, off the top of my head, probably the Luxe series. I want to dress up like that and dance like that.....
So, make sure you visit some of the awesome other blogs participating in the hops! Have a great weekend, and thanks for visiting!

Thanks and it's so surprising you're a book-lover and you don't have a bookcase! I think that's the first time I've heard of that before, but it makes sense since you're a librarian and you donate all your books to the library. That's pretty generous of you though! :)
Nice answers! And that's funny because I currently AM the student who walks around with her nose in a book. Great minds! :D
ReplyDeleteI am also that student! I'd even read during classes. The teachers loved that I liked reading so much, but they were thinking about banning me from bringing books to class for a while.
ReplyDeleteNew follower from the hop. Here's mine!
Happy Friday, Annette! I love your five facts :)
ReplyDeleteIf I could put myself into any book, I'd have to say it would definitely be Harry Potter because I'd be an awesome witch ;)
Good for you for donating your books to the library. Ideally, I'd prefer to turn my own home into one giant library!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
I havent' read the Luxe series! They've been on my TBR since forever, and I need to get to them soon. Such pretty covers, too.
ReplyDeleteI forget the names of characters as well. Not the "popular" or more memorable characters like Jace Wayland or Rose Hathaway, but in lesser known books that not many people talk about. I, too, have gotten a lot better since starting my blog!
ReplyDeleteHey Annette, newest follower here :) Your blog looks awesme!
ReplyDeleteAnd I love your answers this week, people who donate to the library are amazing! And I have yet to read the Luxe series but I think I'd love to wear pretty dresses all day too! :P haha

That's really cool that you started out as a math teacher. I love math! It was one of my favorite subjects in school, until I took calculus. I still love Algebra, factoring polynomials and solving matrices are my favorite things to do. I have no idea why I'm majoring in English Language right now, lol. It's probably because of that calculus thing. ;)
ReplyDeleteThe librarian at my old school and the one at my current school where I teach were both math teachers to start... Pretty cool!
ReplyDeleteHopping through. I have loads of cookbooks too and want to have even more.

I, too, was a student who walked down the hall with my nose in a book :D
ReplyDeleteMath teacher turned librarian! How cool! I used to be terrified of Math.
I used to want to be a maths teacher. I'm a primary teacher that is also the school librarian and it's tough doing both jobs well.
ReplyDeleteIf you like H.G. Wells, you would definitely enjoy The Island of Doctor Moreau . I really want to read The Invisible Man, that'll be the next one of his I try.
I just bought a book shelf last year (or maybe the year before that). I really don't know what I did before that but I guess I managed.

I'm a book collector too. Started collecting old vintage books and then it kind of spread out from there.

Being surrounded by books all day sounds like the ideal job. I wish small book stores could "make it" that would be a fun occupation.

Working in a library sounds great except for all the clerical stuff which would drive me nutso
