TGIF -- and Happy Follow Friday!

Today's question from Ginger at GReads! is:

Author Block Party: If you could gather a handful of authors to hang out with, who would you choose?

Wow. Hard one, but I'm glad you didn't say which "one." Jodi Picoult, Meg Cabot, Sarah Dessen, Scott Westerfeld, Ann Brashares, David Levithan, Kathy Reichs. OK. I'll stop now.....

Over at Parajunkee's View, the question is:

How have your reading habits changed since you were a teen? or If you are still a teen what new genres are you in love with currently?

My reading habits are totally different than when I was a teen. First of all, it was long enough ago that there really wasn't a "YA" category of books. I read romances by authors like Kathleen Woodiwiss. I liked Sidney Sheldon and of course everything Stephen King wrote. I read quite a few classics. The Brontes, Austen, Alcott, Arthur Conan Doyle.  I got on a sci-fi kick for a while and read Asimov, Bradbury, and Orson Scott Card.

Now I read mostly YA, my favorite is historical fiction but I read almost any genre. I still like some adult books, but mostly those that are appropriate for teens.

My reading has also increased a lot in the past year since I started blogging.

Interesting questions this week! I'll be looking forward to all of your answers. Thanks for stopping by.

I'm having a GIVEAWAY -- so make sure you go enter if you haven't yet!

Have a great weekend.

  1. I think I too read more now because of my blog ... AND I'm reading more YA now then I did as a teen. I've read some historical fiction and really liked what I've read so far.

Do you have any recommendations? I'd like to get into that more...

  3. I read a lot as a teen, but I think I read more now. I'm not sure how that's even possible considering how much I read back then. So many books, so little time!

Also, I’m a new follower. Stop by my blog and follow me too? :) http://rachelbrookswrites.blogspot.com/

  7. Hopping through. I've never been into sci fi, but I am a huge Orson Scott Card fan. I love the Enders books.

  10. I read the blurb for God of Beer but don't remember it. I'm guessing that the teachers objected primarily because of the title?
