Here's a picture of one of my Banned Books Week displays, right as you walk in the library. Each bag contains an often challenged book. It generates a lot of discussion about, "What does banned mean?" "Can I check these out?"
Do kids actually check out the books? I was considering putting up caution tape but I just opted for book marks identifying books as banned. They are flying off the shelf, in fact I should go and hunt up some more to freshen up the display shelf. But I really like the way your books look and come across.
Love it! Intriguing and just a little naughty -- perfectly tempting.
ReplyDeleteI love it! Anything that gets kids interested in books and reading is great!
ReplyDeleteVery cool idea! We covered books in black paper for our display and it's been getting some attention.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! I am going to copy you (if that's ok) and do that to a few of the books on my banned book display!
ReplyDeleteBy all means, copy away! I've been doing this for several years, and I'm sure the original idea or some form of it came from someone else.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea!
ReplyDeleteIt definitely makes you stop and want to ask questions. I love it.
ReplyDeleteThis is great!
ReplyDeleteI love this display! My local library didn't put anything up for banned book week, which makes me sad.
