I haven't even read this one yet, but I love the cover!

Well, that's only nine, but I'm surprised I was even able to come up with that many. I'm not a real cover person, unless there is a gorgeous dress. TGIF - Bad Cover, Great Book

Yea! It's Friday, and time for Ginger's TGIF:

Show Me Your Cover: What are some of the worst book covers, but hold some of the best stories inside? Don't be embarrassed, show us your cover!

OK. I've never told anyone this, because I think most people really like this cover. Its:

The Vespertine, by Saundra Mitchell

The link goes to my review, and even one of my commenters mentioned the beautiful cover! I think she looks funny. Like a Barbie doll. And her arm looks bent at a wonky angle. And her head is cut off. And the colors are drab. I really liked this book, but I just don't see anything special about this cover.

Shmoop's 18 of the Best Book Covers in Western Writing

Shmoop is a website that I follow that has many great resources for teachers, and I particularly like the literature resources. But today I found a post about the Best Book Covers and I thought you might like to see what they have come up with.

Among their picks are some excellent examples:

Where the Wild Things Are

The Giver

Twilight

Jaws
