Book Review: Cross Fire, by James Patterson

What can I say? I’m a sucker for Alex Cross. And, in the latest adventure, Cross Fire, he faces Patterson’s all-time most horrific villain, Kyle Craig. That’s right—he’s back. Don’t worry if you haven’t read the other novels involving Kyle Craig, though, because this one can be read as a stand alone.

And…this one is romantic. Alex is in LOVE and he’s engaged, and Patterson is really good at describing the love between these two people.

There’s a serial killer whose targets are famous Washington DC politicians—who have all been indicted or are involved in very negative scandals. So, some would say this is a vigilante serial killer—these people deserved to die.  Of course, there’s much more to the story. There’s also a person who is killing homeless people and carving mathematical formulas on their dead bodies.  And all of this has something to do with Kyle Craig – you won’t believe this one. Alex and Kyle actually become friends!

So, if you are an Alex Cross fan, of course you need to read this.  If you are a crime drama, serial killer novel fan, this one should satisfy you as well. These are quick reads, so as I’ve said before, recommend them to your reluctant readers, especially the boys—show them all the half-blank pages!
