Welcome to the weekend again. Parajunkee and Alison have another question for you:
Q: What is a book you didn't like that all your friends
raved about or what book did you love that wasn't popular?
I think this happens quite a bit, and it doesn't bother me when it does. Every book is not for every reader. For me, the first example that comes to mind is The Raven Boys. I just couldn't finish it. I've read enough reviews to find out there's some big twist in the middle that might help, but I just couldn't get to that point. I thought Blue was an interesting character, and the book wasn't about her at all! Anyway, I know a lot of people loved this, and I really liked Stiefvater's Wolves of Mercy Falls series, but I just had to give up on The Raven Boys.
So, how about you? Come on, I know there is at least ONE book that you THINK you should love because everyone else does. I'm dying to know what it is! Thanks for stopping by. Hope you come back soon.
I've never read that book but I've heard a lot of good things about it. For some reason the synopsis just doesn't grab my attention.

Aww sorry Raven Boys didn't do it for you! I can understand though. I think my last surprise dislike was The Selection. I was just really disappointed and it was so hyped up. I liked it enough to watch the TV show, and I think it will be WAY better than the book, but I just didn't connect with the writing at all, and even laughed at some of it.
ReplyDeleteHopping through. I loved The Raven Boys, but it took a very long time to get into. I know several people didn't like it.

I'm so sad to hear that, The Raven Boys was one of my faves.
ReplyDeleteOh no! I haven't read The Raven Boys yet but I love Stiefvater's other works. I didn't think she'd let me down! ;)
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend, Annette! Oh, by the way, thanks so much for the YA historical fiction suggestions. I didn't think about some of those being historical.
Oh the title sounds very familiar but never actually got near it to read the synopsis!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing and I'm also now following you :)

I've read Shiver in the Wolves of Mercy Falls series, but it was a while ago now so I can't really remember how much I liked it or not lol.
