It's Friday and the Apple Trees are in Full Bloom!

For your enjoyment, I thought I'd include a picture of the apple blossoms at my family's apple orchard. Imagine walking through hundreds of trees full of these beautiful blossoms. It's an experience!  Hope you had a great week, and are looking forward to a wonderful weekend.

Let's see what's up at some of our favorite blog memes.

Parajunkee's View asks the following for her Follow Friday meme:

Q. Do you have anyone that you can discuss books with IRL? Tell us about him/her.

Not really. That's one reason I started blogging. I guess my daughter would be the person who I have most in common with as far as reading.. We read some of the same stuff, so we get to chat about exceptional books. I talk to some of my teens at my library about various books, but not very in depth. My husband reads too, and there's an occasional book that we share, but we read a lot of different things. So, it's not great, but I do get some interaction IRL.

Crazy-For-Books hosts the weekly Book Blogger Hop and asks this:

"Pick a character from a book you are currently reading or have just finished and tell us about him/her."

I just finished reading White Cat by Holly Black, and the main character is a teenager named Cassel. He pretty much gets his life turned upside down during this book. He finds out he's not what he thought he was, and his family, in particular his brothers, aren't what he thought either. He's filled with guilt because he was responsible for the death of a childhood friend, and he is doesn't really know how to be close to anyone. The book is about Curse Workers, people who have special magical powers, and it is also about the underworld of crime. It's a very unique and interesting book.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed my blog. I do have a giveaway going on right now, so if you are interested check it out!

  1. I haven't read those books by Holly Black. I read her faerie series though and really enjoyed it. As for sharing books with real life people, not so much. My mother rarely reads books that I'd like her to read and even when she does, she won't discuss it. It's like I have a one-sided gushing session about the book. That's why I was attracted to this community as well.

    Love the apple blossoms!

    Have a great weekend!

  3. Hello! :)

I have a few people that I talk about books with in real life but the blogging community is great because there is just so much variety, I have found so many new books to read!

    Happy reading

  4. The apple trees are finally starting to bloom in my neck of the woods too. They're not quite in full bloom yet, but they're getting there. :)

  5. I love your blog and am now following. I know how you feel about blogging because you don't have anyone to talk to about your books - I am in a similar boat.

  6. I'm a new follower stopping by :)

Let me tell you, it's pretty weird talking to your school librarian about anything, including books- but if you try, that's awesome :) And you and your daughter must have good conversations on books, too!

  7. I usually talk to my mom and my sister about books even though they are not as into them as I am. I really want to read White Cat! New follower! Looking forward to reading your blog in the future. Have a happy weekend :)

  9. Hopping through. I love Cassel. I like how arrogant he starts out in White Cat and we slowly see the nice boy underneath pop up.

  10. Well it is interesting that you have so many readers around you but no one to have discussions with. At the same time, who needs to have major discussions when you could be reading? :)
