TGIF - Comfort Reads and Vacation Time!

Another week! Whew! Summer really flies by, doesn't it? Happy Friday everyone, and here's today's TGIF question from Ginger:

Comfort Reads: Which books do you go to for comfort & familiarity?  Is there a type of book you seek out when you're needing that extra bit of comfort in your life?

I read almost all YA, all different genres, so when I need a break or some "comfort," I turn to adult titles. In particular, romantic adult titles. I like Jane Green. I recently read one by Susan Mallery. Something that is quick, easy, and will give me a warm feeling when I'm finished. Lauren Weisberberger, Jennifer Weiner, Sophie Kinsella, Sarah Pekkanen, and a new eBook author that I've been entertained by is Rachel Astor (her first one is free right now!) You get the idea.

Big news: I'm going on VACATION! Yes, this is what I'll be concentrating on for the next week:

But there's also some of this:
Lots of readers in my family! So, I'll stay as caught up as I can, but I don't know how much I'll be around the blogosphere.

Hope you have a great week, and thanks for stopping by!

  1. I rarely read YA titles, but I think despite that I get why you'd find more comfort in Adult novels.. Sometimes in order to actually be comforted, you need to have a protagonist you can easily relate to, and while we all once have been teenagers, at the moment, we probably aren't. ;D At least that's part of why I enjoy Adult books more.. Ah, whatevs.

    Hope you'll enjoy your vacation!!

  3. I LOVE Jane Green's novels! They are definitely a jump form my usual YA fare as well., but they make excellent comfort books. Great choice!
