Parajunkee's Book Bloggers New Year's Challenge - Day 1

Happy New Year! I'm trying to participate in Parajunkee's New Year's Challenge. I'm not sure I'll make it every day, but I'll do my best!

Today: Your Blogger Resolutions

Nothing fancy here. I'd like to keep the reading pace that I've had for the past two years. Almost 56,000 pages and around 170 books. I don't think I can do much more than that, so I won't even go for that.

I also REALLY REALLY need to do something about my blog design. It's old, and simple, and I'm really bored with it. I have ideas about what I want, but haven't yet decided to give up the time (and money) and hassle to get it done. Maybe I'll just go for something simple that I can do myself again. I just need a change. I've never been about winning prizes or maximizing hits on my site, so that's why design is not my top priority. But it's time to DO something.

As always, and just like most people, I'd like to read and comment on more blogs every day. I'll keep working at getting better at this. Some days are better than others...

How about you? What are your Blogger Resolutions? Be sure to stop by Parajunkee's and participate!

  1. Treating yourself to a blog redesign sounds like a great idea! Commenting is my main resolution because I miss so much when I'm not making the effort to interact with our awesome community.

    Happy New Year!

  4. I was in the same predictament you are in with my redesign a couple years back. My sister keeps urging me to update our current design, but I like it and see no reason to do that you know?

    Good luck!!

  5. I know how you feel about doing a blog redesign. It's a lot of time and effort and real life always throws something at me before I can get round to doing it! Hopefully you'll find the time this year.

Good luck with your resolutions and happy new year :)

  6. I am always impressed with the books people read each year. I think that is awesome on how much read.

  10. Impressive number of books! I failed at all of my reading challenges last year, so going to concentrate on the Goodreads Challenge only, with a goal of 100 books.

Good luck! And Happy New Year!

  12. 170 books is a good pace. I think that's a book every two days. Way more than I could handle, as sometimes I need reading breaks.

I'd love to see what kind of design you have in store for your blog. I like the spring-time colors you have now. :) There are some amazing designers out there and many more that offer decent prices and good work. Definitely treat yourself to a makeover if you can. A blog makeover feels better than a manicure...at least to me. Though, I do like pretty fingernails, LOL.

  13. Good luck with the re-design, Annette. I sometimes think about a change, too, but it's so daunting. :)

And I, too, plan on commenting more this year. I do read bloggers' reviews (for example, I follow you via email so I read your review in email) but I don't always comment. That is something I want to change this year. But it is time intensive. :)

  14. Comments can be a lot to keep up with this. I struggle here as well. Happy New Year!
