Blog Hopping, and "About My Week"

I was out of town to attend Link Crew training from Sunday through Wednesday. As a side note, if you are in secondary education, this program is simply amazing, so check out the link. But, what I really wanted to talk about was how much I missed my blogger friends. Not blogging, although I missed that too, but I missed all of you. Reading about what you are up to, what you are reading, what's on your mind. For three days I barely had time to check email, they kept us so busy. Let alone, check my blog reader. Or, read a book (I brought two books along--hah! I read about 15 pages the whole time I was there.) When I got home, I had about 230 email messages (mostly junk; I'm not that popular) and about 430 posts in Google Reader. I caught up today, and must admit, I didn't comment much.

My point is that blogging is a big part of my day right now. YOU are a big part of my day. I don't know if it will always be, but for now, I'm "totally into it." So, thanks for making my days!

I also started a new meme called "Monday Memories," so if you haven't checked that out, you can; and feel free to join in. I'll be posting another one of my memories on Monday.

At Crazy-For-Books, the Book Blogger Hop asks, "Do you read only one book at a time, or do you have several going at once?"

I read one novel and listen to one in the car. I really don't like having several books going at the same time--I guess I'm easily confused. If I stop a book because I've lost interest or it is long and I need a break, I might read another book during the break, but still not at the same time.

At Parajunkee's View, the question is, "How did you come up with your blog name?"

I have another blog which I started first called, "The Housework Isn't Getting Done." The URL is "Annette's Hobby Spot." So when I decided to break off the book review portion of my blog, my URL was naturally, "Annette's Book Spot." And I wanted to come up with a catchy name. So I used Dr. Seuss' "The More You Read, The More You Will Know." I really didn't think many people would read it. I wasn't thinking about "marketing" and "branding." I was just being cute. After a couple of months, I decided my blog name should match my URL (and needed to be shorter!), so I changed it. I still use Dr. Seuss as my by-line.

I've enjoyed reading all of your Follow Friday and Book Blogger Hop posts. I know I didn't comment much this week, but I'll be getting back to normal soon. Oh, and I hope to have an actual BOOK REVIEW up tomorrow. Thanks for stopping by. Let me know how your week was, and I hope you have a great weekend!

  2. I fall into a similar habit--if I'm behind on reading Google Reader posts, I tend to comment less. If only we could let people know, "I was here" but just didn't have anything that pertinent to add! By the way, I love your original blog title from Dr. Seuss. It makes for a lovely subtitle now. Have a great weekend :)

  3. You're awesome! I love that you take the time to comment on my students' reviews (they love it, too!). And I'm a huge fan of Dr. Seuss and tend to use the "the more you read..." quote a lot on my kids.

I try to read a couple books at a time but it usually doesn't work out, since I get totally wrapped up in one and have to finish it first. Thank goodness I read quickly!

Happy Reading! And, as always, thanks for stopping by The Book Swarm and commenting!

  5. Not everyone can multi-task and nobody should. When it comes to book sure, I can't read four books simultaneously (or even two, for that matter!) but there are times I'll juggle as many as four books at a time depending on the subject matter, the urgency or more often both.

The real trick to this is what KINDS of books to juggle. Hop on over to my blog and learn the method behind my madness - http://www.howardshermannet

  7. Hopping through. Isn't it amazing how blogging can take up your life and you can miss it when it's not there? When I started blogging, I told myself I wouldn't let it take over, but it has. But I only do as much as is fun for me. That's the most important part.

  8. Hopping through via the Hop!! I am always reading more than one book at a time. I try to listen to audio books in the car while doing my usual driving around town, and while I start listenting to book everytime I am in the car, that usually only lasts for a bit and I only get halfway through the book. But when I do long trips I always finish one book - I read Amy Efaw's After on a long driving trip last summer, and it was AMAZING (highly recommend it).

New Follower! I can't wait to read posts from your lovely blog!
