Shmoop's 18 of the Best Book Covers in Western Writing

Shmoop is a website that I follow that has many great resources for teachers, and I particularly like the literature resources.  But today I found a post about the Best Book Covers and I thought you might like to see what they have come up with.

Among their picks are some excellent examples:

Where the Wild Things Are

The Giver


Twilight


Jaws

And several others that were surprises to me, or that I was unfamiliar with. Check out the list, and let me know what you think.  Are there others that you think should have been included? What are your favorite book covers of all time?

    Great topic for discussion! I like all those covers but Where the Wild Things Are is a stand-out. The illustrations in the book are very textured and so imaginative. Not sure what's so special about the cover of The Cat in the Hat but a classic favourite nonetheless :)
