So Happy it's Friday! Let's do some Following!

The Follow Friday question at Parajunkee's View is quite interesting this week!

Q. Let's step away from besties...What is the worst book that you've ever read and actually finished?

I suspect most of these answers will come from required reading for school. The first one that came to mind was Tom Jones, but I don't think I actually finished it. So, I would have to say, at least ONE of the worst was The Yellow Wallpaper, which I posted about in one of my Monday Memories posts. Thanks goodness it was a SHORT book!

Ginger's tgif question at GReads this week is good too.

Blogger Confession: What's the last book you could not finish?
(or had a hard time finishing?)

Once again, if I've picked the book, I rarely can't finish it. The ones I can't finish are usually ones that I am reading because of a recommended "list," such as our Abraham Lincoln High School Book Award titles.  So, there are a couple of those that I couldn't finish. Carter Finally Gets It is a comedy more aimed at middle school boys. I just read enough to get a feel for the book and it just wasn't for me. I'm sure the target audience will love it! Same thing with Mexican White Boy. I've read other books by de la Pena, but this one just  didn't do it for me.  Too many characters, too much slang, not much plot (at least in the first 60 pages.)

I hope you all have a great weekend! I'm looking forward to seeing all of your answers to these.  Thanks for stopping by. I hope you visit often.

  3. The required reading thing gets me too. There was a book I was forced to read in high school that I hated, but when I later went back and read it for myself, I actually enjoyed it. Go figure!

  7. This is so timely as I just posted a review today of an audiobook that I just could not get through! Moran's Cleopatra's Daughter was a snooze for me.

  8. Oh really?! I really liked THE YELLOW WALLPAPER. I also read that for school...I think in high school...but I enjoyed it. I did pick a book I had to read in middle school, though, that I really hated.

    Happy Friday!

  11. New follower hopping through! That's too bad, I really love The Yellow Wallpaper. It did get old in college though -- I had to read basically every semester since all English classes studied it. :/

Hope you're having a good weekend!
